Abstracts: Research and development activities in the field of renewable energy have been considerably increased in many countries recently, due to the worldwide energy crisis. Considering ocean's and sea's energy, the Wells turbine is one of the technical systems allowing an efficient use of the power contained in waves with a relatively low investment level. It consists of a self rectifying air flow turbine employed to convert the pneumatic power of the air stream induced by an Oscillating Water Column into mechanical energy. Wave energy is one of the promising forms of renewable energy from the oceans. Waves are caused by the action of winds on the sea. Waves can be many meters in height and contain a great deal of energy. This energy can be harnessed to drive turbines that generate electricity. In this work, the Wells turbine used to convert wave energy into mechanical energy is investigated and optimized to increase its efficiency. So this project is mainly focused on designing, optimizing and constructing well defined wells turbine power plant which can run on ocean wave energy.
