Abstracts: A “Greenhouse” (also called a Glasshouse) is a building in which plants are grown. Greenhouses allow control over the growing environment of plants. “Greenhouse Effect” is a natural phenomenon. It is a process by which thermal radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in all directions. We will use the technology of “Industrial Automation” to control this effect in which products are made under the control of computers and programmable controller. The techniques include “PLC” and “SCADA” that have been used in our project to automatically control the parameters responsible for the growth of plants within a greenhouse. PLC: Program Logic Controller It is a digital computer used for the automation of electromechanical processes. SCADA: Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition It acts as an operator control for visualizing, monitoring and controlling the plant/field. The parameters to be controlled in our greenhouse model are temperature and humidity. They have to be maintained within a specified limit by the user or programmer. “Image Processing”: It is any form of signal processing for which the input is an image, and the output of it may be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to that image. Through “MATLAB Programming”, we will detect the images of 2 plants to be grown in our greenhouse and then accordingly incident on them specific color lights from LEDs to make their growth better. MATLAB: MAtrix LABoratory “MATLAB” is a numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. It allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, JAVA AND FORTRAN.
