ABSTRACT
The proposed system mainly concentrates on controlling of industrial devices using ARM micro controller (LPC2148).Existing system can control only minimum number of devices as result of which power consumption and cost increases. Industries are equipped with vast number of devices which need to be controlled and coordinated with the other devices at proper time. So ARM controller which is of 32 bit can be used to control many devices at a time and offers high performance and very low power consumption. The ARM architecture provides high instruction throughput and impressive real-time interrupt response is achieved from a small and cost-effective processor core.
ARM controller is the heart of this project. Device ID number and control instructions are generated through VB interface from pc .This commands information passed through RS-232 cable, which is interfaced to ARM microcontroller of UART. ARM controller decodes and processes the instructions and performs various functional tasks. MAX-232 is used in order to make voltage compatible with the devices. RS-232 is used to provide voltage compatible with the ARM.LCD interface is needed for monitoring the various actions performed/control by the VB software interface. Data integration error handling method LFSR (linear feedback shift register) is used to generate secured password which provides security to the system. The main advantages of this system i it provides control of many devices at a time without any delay. It’s a cost effective system and is an easy to use and upgrade in future.
