ABSTRACT:
Lakes are the important ecosystem of great value to humans which are prone to pollution from agricultural runoff, untreated sewage from the city, surrounding residential layouts and industrial discharges. As a result lake water quality has come down drastically, causing health risks to people in the surrounding areas as well as the aquatic life.
In this study, we will assess the microbial contamination and characteristics of water in the Cipla Lake, which is located in Avalahally near K.R,Puram. Our case study deals with water quality, pollution levels of the lake ecosystem and the preventative measures for minimising pollution.
