INTRODUCTION:
A Linux-based OS for Smartphones and tablet computers, Android is the new name in the digital market. Developed by Open Handset Alliance Android has more than a few good music players in the Market. The Android device has a very good music player itself and with the Android apps it’s a great deal.
Music without phone feels like dead device. We love music and like to use best Android music player app to play music on android. This is nice and simple music player app. Android has no shortage of great music apps, but if you're looking for something that'll play nearly any local file and remote music file look no further than CeolDroid. If you're looking for something cheaper, CeolDroid has a really friendly interface with some extra features. CeolDroid app is a great choice, since it can play both your online and local music in one app. This app requires android 2.2 or higher version OS.
EXISTING SYSTEM
Android has a default media player. This has limitted features. This plays only the local music files. It has no forward and backward buttons on screen.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
CeolDroid app is a great choice, since it can play both your online and local music in one app. This app contains Play,Pause,Next,Previous,Shuffle,Repeat,Seek. We can add songs to a playlist, can Browse and select playlists and delete songs. Can play songs from url in this app. Also we can play songs from PC remotely. This app supports almost all music formats like mp3,wav,aac,midi etc.
The proposed system is developed using Android SDK 2.2, ADT Plug-in for Eclipse, Eclipse IDE (Helios), and requires J2SE 1.6.
DEVELOPMENT TOOLS
Technology Description:
The Android platform from Google Inc. was chosen because it is currently the undisputed leader in application development for mobile devices, when facilities and utility is considered. Google is a multi billion dollar company, and it is expected that it will honor its commitments towards developing and forwarding this technology.
ANDROID:
Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. The Android SDK provides the tools and APIs necessary to develop applications on the Android platform using the Java programming language. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that provides location information where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. It is maintained by the US government.
ANDROID SDK:
The Android operating system is currently the world's best-selling smartphone platform, dethroning Nokia's Symbian from the 10-year top position. Android is an open-source software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. Google Inc. purchased the initial developer of the software, Android Inc., in 2005. Android's mobile operating system is based upon a modified version of the Linux kernel. Android has a large community of developers writing application programs ("apps") that extend the functionality of the devices.
XML:
XML is a markup language. XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language. XML was released in the late 90’s and has since received a great amount of hype. It was created to provide an easy to use and standardised way to store self describing data. XML is more of a “common ground” standard. The main benefit of XML is that you can use it to take data from a program like MS SQL(Microsoft SQL), convert it into XML, then share that XML with a slough of other programs and platforms.
Because XML is very flexible, it can be used in regular Windows applications, in databases, in web-based systems (Internet), in communication applications, in computer networks, in scientific applications, etc. To make sure that XML can be universally used without one person or group owning it, it is standardized by the W3C .
DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION
After studying all features of existing manual procedures the new system was designed in such a way that it can overcome all the difficulties of the existing system
Designing is the process of translation of requirements defined during analysis into several design activities for users considerations. Designers select equipment needed to implement the system. In this phase, the designs of the database also take place. After identifying the problem, limitations and opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing system, a detailed design of the proposed system is done. The design phase is a transition from the user oriented document to a programmer-oriented document.
SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION
The system requires a mobile phone which is Android based. Google Android OS should be installed on the system. When the compiled APK (Android Package) file is installed on the target phone, the application is integrated into the menu system of the OS. After the application integration, it works just like any other application installed in the system.
The system is designed keeping in mind user friendliness and with aesthetic sense of proportion. Anybody who usually uses a mobile phone can easily navigate thru and operate the application with ease. No need of extra training or installation of additional software is required for the implementation of the proposed system.
Periodic maintenance and modifications may be performed if and when necessary. For that, a suitably configured (Windows / Linux) computer with the requiste software and hardware may be used
CONCLUSION:
In this project entitled “Mobile Finder”, first an attempt has been made to find the need for the system. To fulfill the needs, a detailed study was done to find out the various requirements of the system and it has been designed with an easy to use interface, so that even a user with minimum knowledge is able to operate the system easily.
The software is developed with a modular approach. All modules in the system have been tested and everything worked successfully. Thus the new system has fulfilled the objectives identified and is ready to replace the existing system.
The system is well efficient, and in future, any modifications or enhancements if required, can be done to suit the requirements of the time. Also further modules can be added to it to add more features.
The application will fool the new user (thief) so he will not change the mobile OS. Where ever the thief moves with the phone, the tower details of those areas will be messaged and mailed continuously. So we can locate the mobile phone. Hence the phone can be tracked.
