Abstract
Robust solutions are recently needed to handle the
unusual modification of extensively distributed medical
information images. If a medical information image is modified,
it may cause to have wrong diagnosis that may arouse a serious
problem. Moreover, medical images of digital form are easy to
alter for illegal purposes. For instance, by wiping off or adding
small information intentionally, it is possible to modify the digital
medical images for certain illegal purposes; like insurance claims
etc. Hence, the reliability of medical image is an important
criterion in a Hospital Information System (HIS). In this paper
Fresnelet transform is used for secure distribution of medical
images based on Fresnelet coefficient. The experimental results
exhibit the high imperceptibility for host image and the
significant robustness of embedded image.
INTRODUCTION
Due to the expansion of latest technologies in
information science, circulation of medical images
between hospitals has become a common practice now
days. Medical images are switched for number of
reasons, for instance teleconferences amongst
clinician's, interdisciplinary exchange between
radiologists for consultative purposes, and distant
learning of medical personnel [1]. Data hiding
techniques have just become an important issue in a
number of application areas. Nowadays, digital medical
image appears as an efficient area to ensure reliability
and authenticity verification [2]. Privacy is a critical
issue in medical imagery. It is therefore of supreme
importance to ensure the protection of the image content
for strict ethics, legislative and/or diagnostic reasons.
Particularly, there are two types of data hiding the first
one is, steganography and the second is digital
watermarking. Steganography is used in espionage, for
example the entertainment industry for copyright
purposes, and there is some specu lation that insurgents
use it for some means of communication as well [3].
SIMULATION AND EVALUATION
To test the algorithm, MATLAB modules are defined
separately for embedding and extraction of watermark.
The quality of extracted information data is compared
with original information data using correlation (CORR)
coefficient shown in Eq. (5). A number between 0 and 1
to specify a confidence level: between two images.
CONCLUSION
This paper proposed a novel digital medical image
embedding scheme to increase security, secrecy and
integrity of medical images distribution via internet by
using Fresnelet transform algorithm. The application of
this method does not only hide the transmitted data but
also encrypt it, for resistance to leakage the energetic
information with great imperceptibility of host image
and robustness to embedded data.
