INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY
The present study has been conducted in VOS pvt ltd, Thaikkattussery, the study was regarding effectiveness of training and development programs in VOS.
Ayurveda is a natural healing system that has been growing through over 5000 years.The most eco-friendly system of treatment with no harmful side effects, Ayurveda means ‘the science of life’ and relies completely on herbs and natural substances. It’s not just an alternative healing system, but a way of life as well. Ayurveda offers cure to almost all diseases, and this speciality makes it more popular than the rest of healthcare system.
Though there is healthy competition in the market VOS is able to withstand this competition by realizing the importance of standardization of medicines, and modernization of products. They have updated the technological features of existing plant by introducing imported machineries and equipments. With the vision to spread the benefits of authentic Ayurveda to all VOS is offering courses for doctors from outside kerala. It is also offering Ayurveda Masseurs training programme. It is also providing training to all other employees serving in all the other departments of the firm. It provides both on the job and off the job training programs. Besides the initial training program the firm is providing other training programs according to the technological changes to the employees, to adjust to the situations. So VOS concentrates not only in serving the society by providing new products and services but also its employees by solving their problems and serving them too.
An attempt has been made in this study entitled “A STUDY ON EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN VOS” A sample of 50 employees helped to analyze their satisfaction level and provide valuable suggestions.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs in VAIDYARATNAM OUSHADHASALA .
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
● To evaluate the effectiveness of training on employees.
● To identify the different training methods followed by the firm.
● To assess the satisfaction level of employees with regard to training.
● To understand the training needs of employees in the firm.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Today every firm tries to satisfy its customers because existence of each firm is depend on its customers. A firm can satisfy its customers only with the help of its employees. Employees are the real assets of a firm. So it is also necessary to serve them best. W hen an employee enter in to a firm he may not be aware about the rules, regulations and culture of a firm. To make the employee adjust to the organization it is necessary to provide training and induction program.
Training is the art of increasing the knowledge and skill of an employee for doing particular job. The study undertaken for VOS aims to study the effectiveness of training and development program given to employees. It helps to improve the productivity and skills of the employees by measuring the training program and also helps the organization to know its drawbacks and helps to correct it. In this study the questionnaire helps in analyzing the satisfaction level of employees and the method adopted for training.
Ollur is taken as the area of study and and data is collected from the respondents with the help of questionnaire. The survey was in order to find out the opinion of respondents regarding the quality and type of training they received . The study helps to know the overall satisfaction.
At present VOS is providing training to the employees according to the technological changes. Realising the importance of standardization and modernization the firm is updating its technological features. This alone will not make the firm successful in long run, along with this the firm should provide required training programs to the employees to reduce the wastage due to change, enhancing employee’s interest towards work, to reduce absenteesm, to strengthen the morale and employee commitment, to improve their skill and knowledge.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH:
Human beings are interested to acquire information from different sources. They are always eager to know more this urge of acquiring information is ever present in every individual. Research is common parlance refers to a search for knowledge .It can be also defined as a scientific and systematic search for pertinent information on a specific topic.
In fact research is an art of scientific information. Some people consider research as a movement, a movement from the known to the unknown. It is actually a voyage of discovery. Research refers to search for knowledge. it is systematic enquiry seeking facts through objective verifiable methods in order to discover the relationship among them and to presume broad principles or laws for them.
"Research comprises defining and redefining problems, formulating hypothesis or suggested solutions; collecting, organizing and evaluating data; making deductions and reaching conclusions; and at least carefully testing the conclusion to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis"
