FEEDERS
Feeders are erected to serve the purpose of storage.
They collect the coal from the conveyer.
It sends the coal into the mills via conveyor belts.
FURNACE
Chemical energy converts into thermal energy
Designed for efficient & complete combustion
FUEL SYSTEM
Tangential firing system
Pulverized coal is fired with primary air
Burners are placed in corners of furnace
Controllable and uninterrupted fuel input required
Ignition energy is provided by oil guns & igniters
HEATER
Air pre-heater
Recover heat from flue gases and uses to heat incoming air
Raises temp. of furnace gases
Improve combustion and efficiency
lowers the stack temp.
Super heater
Superheated steam contains more heat than saturated steam
Additional heat provides more energy and electrical power output
Re-heater
Raises the temp. of steam extracted by HP turbine
Steam remains dry
can be convection, radiation or both
CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
First water delivered to steam generator at temp. below saturation
value
After it, economizer, which heats it above saturation value
Enters the drum and covers water wall tubes
Water is converted to steam and mixture flows to drum
Drum separates steam from mixture and passes to super heater
High temp. and pressure up to 150 Kg/cm2 steam goes to turbine
