Introduction
Protection of digital multimedia content has become an increasingly important issue for content owners and service providers.
As watermarking is identified as a major technology to achieve copyright protection.
Digital Image watermarking is a technique to hide the secret image (watermark image) into host image resulting watermarked image.
Watermark image has to sustain against various attacks on watermarked image
Types of Watermark
Watermark image can be imprinted on the host image either by visible or invisible means
Watermark image may be Binary or Gray scale
Size of the watermark image that can be embedded depends on the algorithm used for watermarking
Visible Watermark
An image (watermark) that is overlaid on the primary (host) image, which is visible in the watermarked image
Requirements of Digital Image Watermarking
Imperceptibility- The watermarked and original data source should be perceptually identical.
Robustness- The embedded data should survive any signal processing operation the host signal goes through and preserve its fidelity.
Capacity-Maximize data embedding payload.
Security- Security is in the key.
