Methodology:
Primary data- the primary data was collected by a market survey in Visakhapatnam. A questionnaire was prepared, which was administered to 60 customers. The sample contained different categories of customers such as students, business men and employees.
Secondary data- the secondary data comprised of books and magazines. Data was also collected from the company’s website www.aitel.co.in. In order to be accurate with the figures other websites were also used on the internet.
Need of the Study
The study was conducted to know the “customer perception of mobile service provision in Visakhapatnam”. The study revolves around different cell providers and different customers. It totally revolves around the opinions and feedback from the users.
The study was also done to observe the performance of Airtel compared to the other mobile networks in the market and to know whether the customers are aware of the different services provided by Airtel.
Objectives of the Study
To Understand the profile of customers who use mobile services
To identify the most frequently used service providers
To identify the extent of continuation of a single brand service provision among the customers
To understand the factors influencing customer choice of service provider
To check for the levels of awareness about emerging trends in mobile service provision.
Findings:
To understand the profile of customers who use mobile services. A large number of respondents were students, followed by the private sector customers
To identify the most frequently used service providers Airtel has the highest rank compared to all the other network providers in the market because it has the best service and network. According to the respondents it also has a very wide customer base, so therefore is felt to be satisfying customer needs and wants.
. Most of the customers are using the same network Airtel for a long period of time.
Conclusion:
Airtel stands one in the market with the highest customer base in Andhra Pradesh.
Airtel should follow is to retain its customers and to satisfy them so that they would not change to another subscriber.
Airtel however is one of the top companies which have a large number of customers, the advantages of Airtel are that it has very good network and service; they provide the customer with the best service and network in the market.
