INTRODUCTION
Linear video editing is a video editingpost-production process of selecting, arranging and modifying images and sound in a predetermined, ordered sequence. Regardless whether captured by a video camera, recorded in a television studio on a video tape recorder (VTR) the content must be accessed sequentially. It is simple and inexpensive. There are very few complications with formats, hardware conflicts. If all you want to do is add two sections video together, it is a lot quicker and easier to edit tape-to-tape than to capture and edit on a hard drive.
A non-linear editing system (NLE) is a video - (NLVE) or audio editing (NLAE) digital audio workstation (DAW) system which can perform non-destructive editing on the source material. It is named in contrast to 20th century methods of linear video editing and film editing.
Difference
Non-linear editing is the most natural approach when all assets are available as files on hard disks rather than recordings on reels or tapes, while linear editing is related to the need to sequentially view a film or read a tape to edit it.
Scanning
The process of breaking down the scene into picture elements of and re assembling them on them on the screen is known as scanning. It is like your eye’s motion when reading this page. In Scanning, the scene is broken into a series of horizontal lines. When you scan an image, you reproduce it in an electronic, digital form. With the digital version, you can then do many things, including: store
And retrieve the image to and from a digital storage disk, edit it insoftware programs like PhotoShop.
