Abstracts: Power Management System is a system, which presents all network data to an operator to allow safe and reliable operation to control the complete network from a central control room through various plant overviews. The power management system algorithms acquire this information, make decisions, and send commands back to these relays, meters, and I/O modules. Protective relays are an absolute necessity in all power systems. These relays are, therefore, a logical base of electronic devices upon which a complete power management system can be built. A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a small industrial computer which originally replaced relay logic. It contained a program which executes a loop, scanning the inputs and taking actions based on these inputs. Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) allows a utility operator to monitor and control processes that are distributed among various remote sites. High scale SCADA system covers Distribution Management System (DMS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Metering Management systems. This implementation includes power management for such industries using PLC and SCADA system. Control algorithm measures critical parameters and adjust variable outputs to optimize power. Further electricity cost further reduces by around 5%. PLC and SCADA is used to model and realize the complete system and perform the experiment for result analysis.
