Abstracts: Compound Parabolic Concentrator (CPC) differs radically from conventional instruments such as focusing parabolas. It acts as radiation funnel and do not have a focus. There is no need of any tracking mechanism in CPC. For a given acceptance angle its concentration surpasses that of other solar concentrators by a factor of two to four. The number of reflections varies with angle of incidence. In order to help provide a rational basis for deciding which concentrator type is best suited for a particular application, we have compared a variety of solar concentrators in terms of their most important general characteristics, namely concentration, acceptance angle, size of reflector area and average number of reflections. In CPC there is a flat plat collector as a receiver but in new design of CPC there can be use Evacuated Tube as a receiver. Evacuated Tube produces higher temperature than flat plat collector.
