Abstracts: This dissertation report is on “Analysis of performance parameters of shell and tube heat exchanger.” In shell and tube heat exchanger many parameters effects effectiveness of heat exchanger like shell side pressure drop tube side pressure drop baffle design, passes design, tube design, pitch design, temperature difference between both shell and tube side, LMTD (log mean temperature difference), heat transfer coefficient. In this work literature survey of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger carried out and than methodology and parameters considered in next chapter by considering benchmark of the problem and designed a heat exchanger with suitable dimension and operational parameters that will be helpful for increase the effectiveness. From the benchmark problem results are analyzed and conclude that by increasing the number of baffles and by decreasing pitch it results in increase of heat transfer coefficient. The results will be useful for solving the problem and for increasing the heat exchanger performance. These results can be used to design the equipments, predict the performance and choose the optimized dimensions and operating parameters.
