INTRODUCTION
Purpose
Active city administration is a web based tool for bringing transparency and flexibility
between citizens and the administrative bodies. This document will provide an overview of the
project that provides an interface for citizens to communicate with administrative body to
reduce the distance and time barrier between citizens and administration.
Scope
A user-friendly online interface for citizens to communicate with administrative body
This system reduces the distance and time barrier between citizens and administration
This system consists of a platform where people can share ideas, invoke discussions,
issue complaints , create suggestion/petitions for improvement of city administration
The various users of the system are Administrators, Citizens of the city, Local municipal
authorities, NGOs
The input to the system is the complaints given by users
Proper response is given to the complaints with activity reports
The status of the complaint is given to the users on request
Definitions, Acronyms and Abbreviations
Admin: The Administrator manages the contents ,the database and the user profiles
NGOs: Non-Governmental Organization can post social issues, conduct polls and
publicize them
Municipals: Municipal authorities can receive the complaints and respond to them
accordingly
Citizens: The Citizens can give complaints, view feedbacks, upload photos and chat
Anonymous Users: Anonymous Users are those who view the site intentionally (to
report any issues) or unintentionally(visitors)

Product functions
Creating awareness
o Site contains informative stories, pictures and videos for creating awareness to the
public
o NGO’s and users will post the contents and Admin is the only authorized person to
approve the contents
o Polls are conducted over various social issues
Get Complaint and Take Action
o Site provides interface for getting the complaints from the users ( affected people /
anonymous users)
o Categorizes the complaints based on departments.
o Site gives pictures to the users for complaining process
o NGO’s will get a copy of all the complaints.
