MoP sponsored scheme launched in March 2005
with the objective of showcasing participatory
models of excellence in distribution, predominantly
in rural areas, which are sensitive to the local
aspirations and requirements.
• MoP had appointed PFC as a Nodal Agency in
respect of implementing the DDM schemes.
• Grant for DDM by MoP is routed through PFC.
Projects sanctioned under DDM
Grant of Rs 5.03 Crs have been sanctioned for 14 Distributed
Generation Schemes (Total cost Rs. 5.58 Crs.) – to be
Implemented by NTPC
• Grant of Rs 89 Lacs have been sanctioned for one DG scheme
(Total cost Rs. 2.07 Crs.) to be Implemented by WBREDA
• Five schemes have been commissioned by NTPC (3 schemes in
Korba, Chhattisgarh, 1 each in Jaraha, UP and Bhaogarh,
Rajasthan).
• One scheme at Sundarban is in advance stage being implemented
by WBREDA.
