PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Main objective
This project focuses mainly to develop a grid-connected photovoltaic simulation system with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) function using MATLAB software in order to simulate and predict the behaviours of the real photovoltaic system.
Motivation
In recent years, most of the energy produced in the world is strongly dependant on the very limited non-renewable sources, as the energy demand increases the resources begin to wane. Therefore lot of research has been done in producing the energy by using renewable sources.
PHASE LOCKED LOOP (PLL)
A phase locked loop (PLL) is a control signal that generates an output signal whose phase is related to the phase of an input signal. When grid phase angle becomes equal to inverter phase angle the error becomes zero and pll generates the output, sine and cos required for the abc to dqo and dqo to abc transformation in control loop.
CONCLUSION
Project Objective The objective of the project is to generate the electricity by using photovoltaic system in an effective and efficient manner.
Methodology adopted The project is mainly divided into five parts. Photovoltaic array place an important role in generation of electricity using sun light, due to non linear output, it is fed to the dc to dc cuk converter by using MPPT of incremental conductance. The output of the dc to dc converter is fed to the SPWM inverter, the errors in the inverter output is reduced using control strategy and finally the output is fed to the grid. .
