INTRODUCTION
The dust weather is a typical disastrous weather
phenomenon. It can be divided into the sand storm, the sand
blowing and floating dust.China is one of countries faced with
serious desertification in the world. The dust weather has a very
big harm to the national economy and the people’s life and
property.
With the research of sand dust weather, people have
gradually find out the spatial and temporal distribution of sand
dust weather, reveals the main source of sand dust weather in
China and the path of dust particles and the formation
mechanism[1~5]. Many research[6,7] show that PM10
concentration and API have relation with sand dust weather.
The sand dust weather from March 19th to 20th and 20th
evening to the 22nd in 2010 is the most serious sand dust
process this year and the strongest in North China. It brings the
sand blowing or the floating dust weather to not only northern
area, but also southern area such as Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei and
so on. The process is discussed in this paper.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
A. Cluster Analysis
Air pollution index is calculated according to daily average
concentration of the air pollutants like PM10, SO2, NOx and so
on. Through analyzing API from 1st March to 1st April, 2010,
It shows that the most important pollutant is PM10. The ratio of
PM10 as key pollutant is as high as 72%. The ratio of SO2 as
key pollutant is 9%. The ratio that the air quality level is
superior is 19%. The ratio of NO2 as key pollutant can be
ignored nearly. When the air quality level is heavy pollution,
the ratio of PM10 as key pollutant reachs 100%, therefore PM10
is the main pollutant causing the city air pollution, particularly
heavy air pollution.
The concentration of dust particles in the cities when
suffered from sand and dust weather increase sharply. The API
data whose key pollutant is SO2 and NO2 are removed,
simultaneously the data whose air quality level is superior
retains. Based on PM10 mass concentration levels computed
from the Air Pollution Index (API) , the system clustering
method was used to classify 86 cities of China into 7
subregions. First subregion only includes Beijing; second
subregion includes Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Changzhi,
Fushun, Harbin, Mudanjiang, Nantong, Wuhu, Jiujiang,
Rizhao, Kaifeng, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Zhanjiang, Nanning,
Beihai, Haikou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Mianyang, Kunming,
Lhasa, Xi'an, Baoji, Karamay; third subregion includes
Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Lianyungang, Yangzhou,
Zhenjiang, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wuhan, Jingzhou, Huzhou,
Shaoxing, Hefei; forth subregion includes Wenzhou, Fuzhou,
Xiamen, Quanzhou, Shantou; fifth subregion includes
Zaozhuang, Weifang, Jining, Weinan; sixth subregion includes
Lanzhou; and seventh subregion includes Xining.
CONCLUSIONS
1) PM10 is the major pollutants causing air pollution,
especially heavy air pollution in the urbans. Regional
characteristic of sand dust weather is analyzed. By using
cluster method, 86 cities of China are divided into 8
subregions, combined with the actual situation and the
location.
2) Two regions of North China and East China are
discussed. The cities discussed in North China include
Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Datong,
Jinan, Zibo, Zhengzhou, Shizuishan; the cities dicussed
in East China include Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou ,
Nantong, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Hangzhou, Ningbo,
Shaoxing, Hefei, Wuhu, Wuhan. The
