Application of the GSF-1 Algorithm to the Near-Optimal Timescale Prediction of the Hydrogen Maser
ABSTRACT
The GSF-1 timescale prediction algorithm is a simple generalization of the second difference prediction. It is close to
optimal for combinations of power-law noise processes encountered in practice. By adding a drift parameter, it can be
extended for use in presence of frequency drift without loss of optimality. It is applied to the timescale prediction of the
hydrogen maser.
