ABSTRACT
In this project we record the driving data, visual data, collision data and position before and after the accident.
Unlike general electronic control units as PCB or module, car block box implemented on a single chip can reduce the size, cost and power consumption.
System On Chip(SOC) is the effective method to implement embedded system in this, which consists of processor, memory, I/O peripheral and several interfaces.
In addition to the basic function this is equipped with wireless communication system can send accident location to central emergency server.
Flash Memory
Flash is the most important recent advancement in memory technology.
It combines all the best features of the memory devices described thus far.
Flash memory devices are high-density, low-cost, nonvolatile, fast (to write but not to Read), and electrically reprogrammable.
These advantages are overwhelming, and the use of flash memory has increased dramatically in embedded systems as a direct result.
In-Built Peripherals in PIC Microcontroller
ADC – Analog to Digital Converter
PWM – Pulse With Modulation
UART – Universal Asynchronous receiver transmitter.
MSSP (Master Synchronous Serial Port)
I2C – inter integrated circuit
SPI – serial peripheral interface.
EEPROM
An electrically-erasable-and-programmable ROM (EEPROM) is internally similar to an EPROM, but with the erase operation accomplished electrically. Additionally, a single byte within an EEPROM can be erased and rewritten. Once written, the new data will remain in the device forever or at least until it is electrically erased.
One tradeoff for this improved functionality is higher cost; another is that typically EEPROM is good for 10,000 to 100,000 write cycles.
Advantages of I2C
2 wire communication.
ICs can be added or removed from system with out affecting any other circuit on the bus.
Integrated addressing and data transfer protocol allow system to be completely software dependent.
Don’t require device drivers( plug and play).
Low power consumption
Cost Effective.
