Introduction To ASP.Net
Asp stands for Active server pages.
Asp is a technology that Microsoft created to ease the development of interactive Web applications.
Asp.Net is a sophisticated and powerful web development framework.
Asp.Net is a server-side technology. That is, it runs on the web server.
Asp.Net engine converts the execution into its equivalent HTML code and returns it back to the clients.
Introduction To Framework
Frameworks are a special case of software libraries in that they are reusable abstractions of code wrapped in a well-defined Application programming interface (API), yet they contain some key distinguishing features that separate them from normal libraries.
Software framework, a reusable set of libraries or classes for a software system (or subsystem).
Application framework, a software framework used to implement the standard structure of an application for a specific operating system.
Web application framework, a software framework for development of dynamic websites, web applications, and web services.
Difference between Server side and
Client side scripting?
Client-side scripting generally refers to the class of computer programs on the web that are executed client-side, by the user's web browser. It will run by the Web Browser. Any user in the world can view the full script by simple going to page source. Some Client-Side scripting languages are HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
The use of server-side scripting is often less visible to users. It is mostly used for content management, where the site's content is stored in a database, and presented to the user on request. Server-side technologies like PHP, ASP, JSP, Perl and many others have nearly become a requirement for successful web sites today.
Advantages Of Asp.net
Access to the .NET Framework, which extends the Windows API.
Introduction of the new Visual C# programming language, which provides a type-safe, object-oriented version of the C programming language.
Built-in security through the Windows server or through other authentication/authorization methods.
Full support for Extensible Markup Language (XML), cascading style sheets (CSS), and other new and established Web standards.
The ability to create new, customized server controls from existing controls.
