Attendance Management System is a software developed for daily student attendance colleges and institutes. If facilitates to access the attendance information of a particular student in a particular class. The information is sorted by the operators, which will be provided by the teacher for a particular class. Regular college attendance enables students to maximise their full educational potential and to actively participate in the curricular activities and engage in their learning. It is important that children must develop habits of regular attendance at an early age. Students who are regularly absent from college are at risk of missing out on fundamental aspects of their educational and social development. Absenteeism often means students miss important stages in the development of topics. Absenteeism contributes towards lack of success in students. Students need to attend colleges regularly in order to participate fully in regular activities, build positive relationships with their teachers and to continually develop their skills.
Organisational Objectives:-
The purpose of developing attendance management system is to computerized the tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate the report automatically at the end of the session or in the between of the session. College attendance is crucial to the entire system of College. There's no way of success if you never attend college regularly.
Scope :-
The scope of the project is that the system on which the software is installed, i.e. the project is developed as a desktop application, and it will work for a particular institute. But later on the project can be modified to operate it online.
Key Result Area’s (KRA):-
• It is cost effective because it has eliminated the paper work completely.
• The system is also time effective because the calculations are automated which are made at the end of the month or as per the user requirement. The result obtained contains minimum errors and are highly accurate as the data is required.
Technical feasibility:
The technical requirement for the system is economical and it does not use any other additional hardware and software.
Behavioural Feasibility:
The system working is quite user friendly and learn due to its simple but has attractive interface. User requires no special training for operating the system.
Organisational Structure:-
Data Collection
Since ages, attendance system has remained one of the most important systems for evaluating the working time of students in the college. In a wider application example, also to mark the number of days present/absent in any academic year of students in a college. The data for each student is fetched by either manual system or by electromechanical devices like punch card, time-notation devices etc. In attendance system, which is manual in nature, the lecturer takes the attendance of the students of different departments in the college. The information regarding attendance is then given to the counsellor. The counsellor then checks for the number of presents, absents and whether he/she has taken the leave for the absent. And finally he/she prepares the attendance report. In attendance system, which is computerized in nature, the lecturer takes the attendance of the students of different departments of the college. The information regarding attendance is then given to the counsellor. The counsellor then submits the information to the computer programmer and he feeds the data into the computer and gets the final attendance report.
