Automatic Vehicle Toll Collection & Gate Entry Exit System using RFID
Abstract:
The automatic vehicle identification and toll collection system used by many toll collection agencies is an integration of various specialized technologies including an RFID system, vehicle classification system, and real time transaction processing. The E-ZPass system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. All RFID systems have tags and readers. The E-ZPass system uses a portion of the 900 MHz Industrial Scientific Medical band. RFID technology can be classified into two major categories – Active and Passive. In a passive RFID system the tag has no internal power supply. The tag receives power from the reader as RF energy, temporarily stores this energy and uses this energy to activate its circuitry to produce an encoded, modulated RF response signal. In contrast, an active RFID system uses tags that have their own power source, usually a battery. An active RFID tag has a radio receiver circuit that monitors for the signal from the reader. When this input is detected, the active tag generates its encoded, modulated RF response. The RFID tags put into vehicles and RFID readers are connected to Toll gate and when entry vehicle in front of the reads the reader and opens the gate, when UN authorized person is enter the does not open the gate and alert the systems. This project mainly applicable in security purpose.
