Abstracts: Retrofitting is diagnosis of the distressed structure and eliminating its deficiency without total demolition of the building, to bring it into useful service. Structural strengthening and retrofitting of existing concrete buildings are currently major activities in the construction industry. In the past, strengthening would be carried out by casting additional reinforced concrete or by dowelling in additional steel reinforcement. Such a process is not only time consuming and complicated but could also affect the structural appearance. The development of epoxy resins in the 1960s introduced a new strengthening method by bonding steel plates to the surfaces of the structural members. In the past decade or so, fibre-reinforced-polymer (FRP) composites have emerged as a more preferable material than steel plates in the bonding technique. The proposed technique consists of applying Glass Fibre Reinforce Polymer to the bottom surface and sides of the concrete beam to increase its stiffness and flexural strength. Casting of four reinforced concrete beam will be done, tested under two points loading and then unloaded to dead load. Under this dead load the beams will be retrofitted with GFRP in various pattern's and then loaded till failure This project clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of various wrapping pattern's in the retrofitting of reinforced RCC Beam.
