Location :Sakatpura, Kota(Rajasthan)
Land :Approximate 250 Hectares
Coal :Slack Coal
Water :Supply from Kota Barrage
COAL HANDLING PLANT
20000 tons coal requirement per day.
The main coal sources are:
1. Coal India Ltd. (CIL)
2. South Eastern Coalfield Ltd. (SECL)
3. Northern Coalfield Ltd. (NCL)
Everyday 3-4 trains of coal are unloaded, each train consists 58 wagons.
Coal is unloaded from wagon by means of wagon tippler.
Secondary fuel :- Oil
BOILER
It is a closed vessel in which water under pressure is convert into steam.
A boiler is always designed to absorb max. amount of heat released in process of combustion.
The various heat transfer sections of Boiler :-
Furnace
Super heater
Economizer & air-pre heater
Steam Turbine
It is a machine in which a shaft is rotated steadily by reaction of steam, air upon blades of a wheel.
When Steam is used then called steam turbine.
TURBO GENERATOR
An electrical generator is a machine which convert mechanical energy into electrical energy through electro-mechanical energy conversion.
Designed for continuous operation at the rated output.
Speed:- 3000r.p.m
SWITCH YARD
Two 220KV bus bars have been provided in switch yard and are inter-connected through a bus coupler.
It consists of several parts:
Circuit breakers
Current transformers
Potential transformers
Isolators
Lightning Arresters
