Abstracts: Now a day's every system is automated in order to face new challenges in the present day situation. Automated systems have less manual operations, so that the flexibility, reliabilities are high and accurate. Hence every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of industrial automated systems are doing better performance. Very simply put, blow-down is the process by which water in the boiler is periodically emptied in order to prevent the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) levels from overshooting the desired limit. Blow-down, therefore, protects boiler surfaces from severe scaling or corrosion problems that can result in damage of it. Insufficient blow-down may lead to carryover of boiler water into the steam, or the formation of deposits. Excessive blow-down will waste energy, water, and chemicals. The optimum blow-down rate is determined by various factors including the boiler type, operating pressure temperature & level, water treatment, and quality of makeup water. Minimizing your blow-down rate can substantially reduce energy losses, as the temperature of the blown-down liquid is the same as that of the steam generated in the boiler. Minimizing blow-down will also reduce makeup water and chemical treatment costs. The goal of the project is to develop a system, which automatically does the blow-down of boiler that keeps control of the various parameter of the boiler, which reduces the maintenance cost and increases performance efficiency.
