Executive Summary
PC Repair will provide computer and technical consulting (repairs, training, networking and upgrade service) to local small businesses as well as home PC users. The company will focus on marketing, responsiveness, quality, and creating and retaining customer relations.
PC Repair was initially formed as a sole proprietorship, but was reconfigured as an Corporation in December of 2005 EC. PC Repair will at first be a home office start-up, utilizing one studio room in the owner's home and serving customers in the local Ramsford-on-Bitstream area. In the third month of our plan, we will move into a leased office space and hire a second technician. As sales increase, we will hire additional personnel.
The Market
The very nature of the computing industry, with its extraordinary rate of technological development, creates a constant need for businesses skilled in updating and advising customers on computer-related issues. In town, the majority of potential customers are dissatisfied with existing options, creating an attractive niche for an innovative start-up. Small business PC users will provide the majority of our business revenue. Business Week expects the computing industry to grow at a rate of 12% and the processor speeds to continue to expand for years to come, providing a rich resource for sales.
PC Repair has decided to focus mainly on the small business market, as these customers typically don't have a full-time IT person, but have full-time IT needs. PC Repair will offer an affordable, on-demand service for these customers. We can also offer maintenance agreements that generate additional monthly income. For our residential customers, we will offer a very affordable and helpful service with a very flexible schedule to meet their needs. Our target market will focus on Ramsford-on-Bitstream and the surrounding areas. Market research indicates there is an abundance of business for a small company such as PC Repair.

Our goal is to set the standard for on-site computer solutions through fast, on-site service and response. Our customers will always receive one-on-one personal attention at a very affordable price. Our customers will receive the highest quality of customer service available. Our employees will receive extensive training, a great place to work, fair pay and benefits, and incentives to use their own good judgement to solve customers' problems.
Business Concept
Computer maintenance is the current major issue of our country besides the development of technology; most of the people are become to use computers. Since they want to get better services, they may want different hardware and software to be installed on their computers. In the case of the technology development most Personal computer users want to get advanced services. If there such different reasons, our project wants to do different jobs/application that can solve this problem try to add this contribution to the country on the side technology as well.
Currently, even though there is some computer maintenance which is not giving proper services for the customers and we want to over come this problem and service the society in proper time and short way without suffering them. And also because of improper technical problem many computers simply removed. In our private company we avoid this problem by giving proper service for the customer.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
W5T computer maintenance is small computer hardware and software maintenances adopting the recent technologies to our users are also that our project wants to perform in the future. The firm is located in Mendera kebele in jimma town. After the next four months the firm is just start its job on hardware maintenance and after 6 months of firm started software maintenance also proceeds. The project will solve the problems of different peoples what have computer centers and internet café owner long time problem as well as different government and NGO’s are also the beneficiary of this project.
The total cost of this project will birr 50,000 and finance required by loan is 46% and 54% will covered by partners.
PROJECT CONTRIBUTION TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY
Even if our project starts by small capital it includes employers all together. In the domestication of technologies to our society is the major aim of the firm. We believe that development of one country depends on the ability to access the recent technologies.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The objective of this study is to domesticate our people to the technology and make awareness. To get the advanced technology center not only maintenance in the future and also tries to study the recent accessibility and capacities of services providers regarding to this sectors.
METHODOLOGY
1) Observation: - we observe that in jimma town different computer centers that face great challenges because of the failure of their system. They cannot easily get this services and permanently.
2) Interview: - we ask some close ended and open ended question about already exist computer center. Some customer (user) in Mendera kebele said to us that the already exist computer center has its own drawback for computer maintenance because there are many technical problems.
market analysis
After some years in Ethiopia only in A.A some hardware and software maintenance companies are started even if they do not perform that the current technologies want. Even though they solve some basic problems of PC users as well, in Jimma there is no perfect maintenance center at all. But there are some person performs maintenance services mobile.
Computer maintenance Services
PC Repair will offer computer repairs, training, and networking and upgrade service to clients in two major categories: home PC users and small business users. As PC Repair and the client demands grow, we will offer software development to our business clients.
From the very first day, we will offer on-site repair and consulting services, so that our clients don't need to take time out of their busy days to haul a computer in to our workshop. Much of our diagnostic equipment is portable, and we will remove a PC to our workshop only when the problem requires more detailed diagnosis or repair. We will also offer free pick-up and delivery of PCs needing repair.
We will also offer extended maintenance contracts, so that business clients can deal with technical support and repair needs as a single line-item expense, rather than having to plan for unexpected crashes and problems with a rainy-day fund they may never use.
Marketing Strategy
Our marketing strategy will aggressively exploit our competitors' weaknesses. During the start-up phase, we will run large ads in the business section of the local newspaper, asking, "Are you fed up with poor customer service for your computer needs?" These ads will focus on our advantages, including on-site service, competitive rates, and quick response and turn-around times. They will announce our opening date, and include a coupon for free diagnostic service for the first 20 customers.
We will follow up on these opening ads with a smaller direct-marketing campaign to small business owners, with lists drawn from the local Chamber of Commerce.
We will continue periodic advertisements, including several promotions (discounts, free diagnosis, etc.) throughout the first year. We expect a small but steady response from home PC users who see our ads elsewhere, but will also run monthly ads in sections other than the business one.
