Abstracts: The features like optimized utilization of remotely available resources and dynamic load-balancing provide significant enhancements in overall system performance in distributed systems. These features may be implemented by applying the dynamic process migration mechanism in which an executing process is migrated from a highly loaded workstation to some lightly loaded workstation in the distributed system. The technique called process checkpointing is required to collect the present-state details of the desired executing process which is to be migrated to some workstation in the distributed system.
