INTRODUCTION:
Gimbal(part of unmanned Arieal vehicle) houses many of the sensors and electro optic(camera) is one of them which used to capture/tracking of objects.
The zooming parameter of the camera is controlled by the rotation of the motor.
The angle of rotation of a motor shaft is controlled by the closed loop control signal generated by the microcontroller ADUC7020/ADUC7026.The speed of the shaft varies wrt applied potential difference b/w two terminals of the motor.
The motor is controlled to rotate its shaft with precise angle(varies in steps) with a feedback loop in control unit which in term varies the zooming parameter of EO(camera).
The closed loop system involves differential line receiver ,shaft encoder , counter(32 bit) ,software generated amplifier , integrator to reach the desire requirements.
The input and feedback signal is continuously monitored and when there exists a difference, it is amplified and rotates the shaft by precise angle which in turn varies the zooming of a camera
