Compression:-
Compression is the reduction in size of data in order to save space or transmission time. For data transmission, compression can be performed on just the data content or on the entire transmission unit (including header data) depending on a number of factors.
Shear force:-
Force acting on a substance in a direction perpendicular to the extension of the substance, as for example the pressure of air along the front of an airplane wing. Shear forces often result in shear strain. Resistance to such forces in a fluid is linked to its viscosity. Also called shearing force.
Or
shear is present, when two forces are thrusting in opposite directions but offset and slide past each other.
Difference between Compression and Shear force
Shear is when two plates move against each other laterally i.e., rubbing your hands together kind of motion—shear is created from a transform fault you could have a right lateral transform fault or a left lateral transform fault depending on which plate is moving.
Compression is when two faults come together i.e., a car crash, —India into Asia is a good example, India being compressed into Asia is our reason for the Himalayan Mountains.
Bending :-
Bending is found between the pulling of tension and the pushing of compression.
or
The shaping of sheet metal by straining the metal around a straight axis. A bending operation compresses the interior side of the bend and stretches the exterior side. Flanging, hemming, and seaming are all bending operations.
Difference between Bending and Torsion
Torsion is twist. Hold a rod in your hands and turn one hand clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. That is torsion. Moment is bending. Stand on the end of a diving board. That is a moment.
or
For twisting, cross-sections normal to the moment vector rotate with respect to each other in plane; for bending, the cross-sections normal to the moment vector do not rotate with respect to each other.
