Abstracts: The project is based on casting defects in impeller which is used to produce submersible pump in Pilot Technocast Pvt. Ltd. Which is located Near Shapar, Rajkot. The impeller is made by shell moulding process which is basically casting process for it. This industry producing impeller for Falcon Pvt. Ltd. located at Rajkot. The material from which the component is made is SS430. The chemical composition of SS430 is 0.12%C, 1%Mn, 0.045%P, 0.3%S, 1%Si, 16-18%Cr, 0.5%Ni. Its also called as a ASTM A 240/AMS 5503. Shell molding process is used to making small size component with good surface finish and dimensional accuracy. The main objective of this project is to remove casting defects porosity and blowholes from the impeller of the submersible pump. These defects comes due to improper solidification rate, hence we are try to find solution by analysis and simulation of impeller in ANSYS. And also try to solve by trial and error method. Finding the solidification rate and pouring temperature on these defects and solve them
