Cloud computing is Internet - ("CLOUD") - based development and use of computer technology (COMPUTING) wherein, shared servers provide resources, software, and data to computers and other devices on demand. It is a natural evolution of the widespread adoption of virtualization, service-oriented architecture and utility computing. It describes a new supplement, consumption, and delivery model for IT services based on the Internet, and typically involves Over-The-Internet provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources. This frequently takes the form of web-based tools or applications that users can access and use through a web browser as if it was a program installed locally on their own computer. This paper mostly focuses on the introduction of cloud computing, its need, advantages over conventional computing models and its service models and deployment models. We also have given basic study of Windows Azure cloud services to comprehend about some live implementations of cloud computing. Keywords: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, grid computing, cluster computing
