LCD Versus OLED Display
LCD requires backlight where as OLEDs are self emissive.
Unlike LCDs, OLEDs consume different power to display different colours.
As it uses plastic instead of glass, an OLED screen is thinner, lighter and more flexible than an LCD screen.
WHY CHAMELEON?
Almost all the web contents are white in colour.
For mobiles with OLED displays, power consumption should be reduced considerably.
Only way is to apply colour transformation.
ALTERNATIVE METHODS
Web content providers should provide webpages with efficient colour schemes.
Not likely to happen in near future .
Colour Transformation done at the mobile client.
Extremely intensive computations at mobile level will defeat the purpose of energy conservation.
CONCLUSION
Colour adaptive web browser is implemented.
Power reduction up to 41 percent.
User friendly.
Can be modified to support videos or flash.
