Assam State Electricity Board invites applications from citizens of India
having requisite qualifications for filling up a few vacancies in the following cadres in
the ASEB’s successor Companies in the scale of pay shown against each plus other
allowances as admissible as per Companies rules and orders in force from time to
time.
1. Assistant Manger(Elect)
2 Junior Manager(Elect)
3. Assistant Accounts Officer
Reservation for ST(P),ST(H), SC, OBC/MOBC and physically challenged
category will be as per existing rules. In case the candidates belonging to reserved
categories are not available, the reserved posts will be filled up from the
general(unreserved) category. The selected candidates will be allotted against the
successor companies based on the preference given by the candidates and the
position in the final select list subject to suitability and availability of vacancies.
2. Scales of pay ( under process of revision):
(i) AM( Elect): Rs. 6200-250-8200-300-11200-350-12600/-
(ii) JM( Elect): Rs. 5000-200-6000-225-8250-25-10750/-
(iii) AAO Rs.3950-175-5350-200-7755-225-9550/-
3.Qualifications:
(A) Assistant Manager(Elect): Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification in
Electrical Engineering from University/Institutions recognized by Govt. with
minimum marks of 60% ( 50% in the case of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes
candidates).Minimum marks is relaxable in the case master degree holder in electrical
Engineering.
(B) Junior Manager (Elect): Three years’ Diploma in Electrical Engineering from
any recognized Institution with minimum 60% marks( 50% in the case of Scheduled
Castes or Scheduled Tribes candidates).
(C ) Asstt Accounts Officer: Bachelor degree in Commerce from any recognized
University/Institution with minimum 50% marks in aggregate ( 5% marks is relaxable
in the case of S/C or ST candidates . Minimum marks is relaxable in the case of
master degree holder in commerce discipline
4. Age( According to HSLC/HSSLC): Not less than 21 ( twenty one) years and not
more than 37 years on 1st June,09 only in the case of candidates who are permanent
resident of Assam and in the case of others upper age limit is 30 years. Upper age
limit is relaxable by 5 ( five ) years in the case of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled
Tribes candidates). In the case of serving employees of the Board upper age limit is
45 (forty five ) years. (Attested copy of age certificate and permanent resident
certificate should be enclosed with the application).
5. Service Conditions: As applicable as per Board’s rules as well as the rules that
may be prescribed by the respective Company.
6. Application Fee (Non-refundable) : Rs. 100.00 ( one hundred) ; Rs. 50.00 ( fifty)
in the case of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes’ candidates, payable by crossed
Indian Postal Order/demand Draft pledged in favour of Chief Accounts Officer,
Assam State Electricity Board, Bijuli Bhawan, Paltanbazar, Guwahati-781001
7. The candidates may indicate his/her order of preference of posting in the
Companies ( Generation/ Transmission/ Distribution) in the space provided in the
application. However, the appointing authority shall have the right to determine
his/her posting in any of the five companies, subject to selection and suitability.
8. Selection Procedure : The candidates will have to appear in the written test to be
notified in due course. The written test shall contain three parts as indicated below.
The candidates who will be selected through written test will be called for a viva-voce
of 50 marks. The final select list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the
written and viva-voce tests. Candidates will be informed for appearing in the vivavoce
at their own expense.
The decision of the Board’s authority for the eligibility or otherwise of a
candidate for admission to the written test shall be final. Inclusion of a candidate’s
name in the select list will not confer him/her right for appointment, unless the
appointing authority is satisfied that the candidate is suitable for appointment in all
respects.
