LCD DISPLAY
A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a flat panel and electronic visual display that uses light modulating properties of liquid crystals.
But liquid crystals do not emit light directly.
LCD possess properties that combine both liquid and crystal.
LCD consists of 2 glass panels with liquid material sand witched between them.
In context of project, 16 2 LCD is being used to display following details,
STEPPER MOTOR
Stepper motor (or step motor) is a brushless DC electric motor that converts digital pulses into a mechanical shaft rotation and further divides a full rotation into a large number of steps.
Motors position can be controlled by each pulse causing motor to rotate with angle(typically 1.8°) precisely without any feedback mechanism (an open loop controller) as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application.
In this project, stepper motor used enables the gate to open and close (rotate 1.8 degrees )in a controlled stepwise manner.
MOTOR DRIVER
The stepper motor is driven by ULN2803.
A ULN2803 is an Integrated Circuit (IC) chip with a High Voltage/High Current Darlington Transistor Array and rating of 50v/500mA.
The device consists of 8 npn Darlington pairs
that feature high-voltage outputs
It allows you to interface low level signals with higher voltage/current loads.
