Abstracts: India is one of the leading agricultural countries in the world, in which most of agricultural processes depend on the economic factor. Due to this reason similar kind of crop has lots of variety in grain size, shape, quantity of impurity, density etc. After threshing a crop, various processes are carried out to clean a grain from the other foreign material. But some amount of fine rocks, clay may remain present in the quantity of grain. For large quantity of grains, such kind of processes are time consuming, tedious & laborious. Grain Cleaner machines of this kind are available in the market for large scale use. But at domestic level, these types of machines are not available. This has motivated us to give our best effort to design & develop a self-operated grain cleaner for domestic use with below features: ? Light weight. ? Compact size. ? Simple construction. ? Ergonomic Design. ? Higher flexibility. The self-operated grain cleaner includes frame, feed shoot, fan, oscillating sieves with different meshes, electric motor, V-belt & pulley drive, electric supply, drum & baffle plates for increasing fan efficiency. Sieves are oscillated by Four-bar chain mechanism (which is used in sewing machines). We can use different sieves with different vibrating frequency & required RPM of fan for variety of grains for efficient cleaning.
