Abstracts: Fixtures are used in almost all the machines of this era; hence they become an essential part of a manufacturing procedure. Fixtures are used in different forms in accordance to the applications of work. They are work holding and supporting device used in a manufacturing industry. Not only they are unique but they are designed for a specific purpose to serve for specific parts. This project is based on a fixture for applying torque in the tie bar (strain rod) of an injection molding machine. It serve two purposes i.e., hold the nut of the tie bar, support the torque wrench and facilitate to achieve the predefined toque. A practical problem has been chosen for demonstration of torque in fixture design. Here the design is based on instruction as provided by “WINDSOR MACHINES PVT. LTD.” where we are undertaking our training and project work. The whole design procedure is based on standards followed by the company. It has a detailed explanation of analysis of torque, programs for calculations, solid works models and animations are used for the modeling and the design. The fixtures are work holding and supporting devices. We have modified the existing design and made it more efficient than its previous operation. Detailed design and models are provided for thorough understanding which shows reduction in error from 59.027 % to 8.5 %.We have also proposed a new design solution which is error less. The company finds it suitable and is looking forward to it.
