DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION - PROSPECTUS
INTRODUCTION :
S.V. University had introduced Correspondence courses in the year 1972 to extend the frontiers of
academic excellence beyond its campus. This Institute was upgraded as Directorate of Distance Education
(DDE) in April 1995 as per the UGC norms. At present this Institute is offering:
UG Courses : B.A. / B.Com.(Telugu & English Media) (Regular & OUS)
PG Courses : M.A. (Economics, Telugu, English, Hindi, Political Science and Public
Administration, Sociology and History), M.Com., M.B.A., M.C.A., M.Sc.
(Mathematics, Computer Science, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry and
Zoology), M.S. Public Relations, L.L.M. and M.S.W.
P.G. Diploma : in IR & PM, Guidance and Counselling,
Professional Courses : B. Ed., B.Ed. 3rd Methodology and B.L.I.Sc.
I. Admission into I Year B.A./B.Com Courses under Open University System (OUS)
The Directorate of Distance Education, Sri Venkateswara University offers B.A./B.Com. courses of
study through Distance Education under Open University System (without formal education). It was
introduced from the academic year 1992-93. Admission under Open University system is open to all
candidates. Applications are called for eligibility test for admission into B.A./B.Com. under OUS for the
academic year 2011-12.
ELIGIBILITY :
1) No pre-requisite educational qualifications is required on the part of candidates.
2) Under this system candidates should have completed 18 years of age on 31-08-2011 and should
qualify the eligibility test conducted by DDE.
3) The attested Xerox copy of date of birth certificate obtained from the concerned authority (as stated
below) should invariably be submitted along with the application from, otherwise his/her application
will be summarily rejected for eligibility test.
Date of birth certificate should be taken from the following authorities :
a) SSC Marks statement
b) Transfer Certificate of the candidate if studied any course earlier
c) Date of Birth Certificate obtained from the Tahsildar / I Class Magistrate / Municipal Comissioner.
Affidavit from the Notary
d) Caste Certificate (The candidate belonging to SC/ST should enclose the caste certificate obtained
from the Tahsildar or equal cadre)
DISPATCH OF HALL TICKETS
Candidates are required to enclose two self addressed stamped (Rs. 35/- each) envelopes (9x4) to
the application for dispatching the Hall-Tickets and marks through Registered post. For ordinary post
affix Rs. 5/- stamps to envelope.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS
The results of the eligibility test will be communicated to the candidates by post. Copies of result
sheets will be displayed at the DDE Office, S.V. University, Tirupati and at all study centres.
FILLING UP OF THE HALL-TICKET FORMS
There are two hall-ticket forms marked Original and Duplicate which are identical in all respects and
both the hall-ticket forms have to be filled in. The photographs have to be attested by a gazetted
officer. If the Hall-ticket is not received for any reason, the candidate can collect a duplicate hall ticket
from this office on production of a passport size photograph one day before the eligibility test.
Note : The candidates have to submit their Hall-ticket and Rank card at the time of admission. Keep the Hall
ticket and marks memo carefully till your admission.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. While obtaining the online challan, please check, whether it is signed by the bank authorities.
2. On the back side of the bank draft the following particulars should be written for its safe accounting.
i. Name of the Student:
ii. Enrolment No.:
iii. Name of the Course / Subject group
3. It is necessary that every student of the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), should quote the
Enrolment number and name of the course and subject in all the correspondence without which no action
can be taken.
4. No refund of fee will be made once remitted.
5. If the last day of any transaction falls on a holiday students are allowed to transact the same on the
following working day only and not beyond.
6. The candidates are advised to preserve all the fee receipts and identity card till the completion of the
course.
7. Each admission application should invariably be enclosed with a separate online challan. In any case
consolidated online challan will not be entertained. Such applications will summarily be rejected.
