Eg:- Cargo booking freight forwarding
Data-driven DSS:- A system that supports decision making by allowing users to extract & analyze useful information that was previously buried in large data base.
COMPONENTS OF DSS
DSS Database:- is a collection of current or historical data from a number of application groups. It can be a small PC Database on massive data warehouse.
DSS Software system:- collection of software tools that are used for data analyses such as OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) tools, datamining tools, or a collection of mathematical and analytical models.
Data mining:- using a special purpose software to analyze from a data warehouse to finds hidden patterns & trends.
OLAP:- a capability of some management decision support and executive information systems that supports interactive examination & manipulation of data from many perspective.
