Rifampicin (RFM) is the first line treatment drug against Tuberculosis belonging to BCS class II having poor solubility and high permeability. RFM exhibits dissolution rate limited absorption and hence poor bioavailability.
Rifampicin (RFM) is the first line treatment drug against Tuberculosis belonging to BCS class II having poor solubility and high permeability. RFM exhibits dissolution rate limited absorption and hence poor bioavailability. So, delivering RFM directly in liquid form filled in HGC will bypass the dissolution step and hence drug will be directly delivered in solubilized form with enhanced dissolution rate. Present study successfully addressed two approaches to overcome the drawbacks associated with RFM i.e i) Liquid filled hard gelatin capsules of RFM and ii) Development of Solusorb of RFM
