Abstracts: The purpose of this project is to design a water purifying system that can purify water from nearly any source and which is relatively cheap, portable, and depends only on renewable solar energy. There are number of ways to purify water among which distillation is one of them. Using solar energy for this process many people have tried and has got success to some extent in getting pure distilled water. Different from conventional solar distillation plant in this project it is tried to keep the evaporation process and the condensation process in different places, thereby it is tried to achieve a greater efficiency. A separate evaporator of conical shape with a pan of shape as per requirement is being taken as the evaporator system. The steam collected in the cone is taken out from the top of the cone is being allowed to pass through a pipe system with fins attached to the pipe, which will act as the condenser part of our system, where the hot steam condenses and is being collected in a collector at the outlet of the pipe. Along with this a DC electric heater is placed inside the pan which is connected with a required source of battery power which in turn is connected to a solar panel. Hence during the day time the system works directly due to solar energy and during the night period the system works with the help of battery, which is charged with the help of solar panel in the day time. Hence it has been tried to develop a solar distillation system with a very good efficiency and which can work in continues process for 24 hours.
