Abstracts: Traditional vapour compression refrigeration technology is faced to the challenges of energy shortage and environmental pollution. Heat-operated cooling systems, such as those based on vapour absorption and vapour adsorption, provide a promising alternative to the conventional vapour compression systems. Because of the absence of mechanical compressors as well as the use of natural refrigerants, these systems do not contribute to depletion of fossil fuels, global warming, or ozone layer depletion. In this project, we have prepared experimental model of Vapour Adsorption Refrigeration System. The present study deals with the performance of a single stage adsorption refrigeration system with activated carbon-methanol pair investigated experimentally on the models prepared in lab. And calculation for the prototype of this model is done.
