Abstracts: › A fixture is a work holding device which holds and positions the work, but does not in itself guide, locate or position the cutting tool. › For complex machining, a workpiece is needed to be repositioned manually once or more while manufacturing. It is called setting up a workpiece. It is tedious and time consuming task. As the no of setup increases, the chances of decreasing the accuracy also increase. So for manufacturing the product in less time and with more accuracy the no of setups should be minimum as much as possible. › Thus by designing a milling fixture for optimum no of settings on the CNC milling machine we can reduce manufacturing cost and cycle time for company. › Our aim is to design suitable fixtures for manufacturing surface of CNC milling center DX-150 which is being manufactured in another CNC milling center HMC-450 Mp Pro. › 3D exploded view of fixture in addition to 2D & 3D drawings of component and fixture using Pro-Engineer will be also included.
