Abstracts: This project deals with rate of flow of fluid flowing through the pipe lines. According to literatures review and acceptance, the principal of venturi meter is based on Bernoulli's equation that is the velocity head increases in an accelerated flow by reducing the cross sectional area of flow passage. Venturi meter consists of a converging portion, throat and a diverging portion. The function of the converging portion is to increase the velocity of the fluid and temporarily lower its static pressure. The pressure difference between inlet and throat is developed. This pressure difference is co-related to the rate of flow. The design of venturi meter is analyzed experimentally. The experimental set up of venturi meter is developed to measure manometer reading, Mass flow rate of water, discharge and Coefficient of discharge. The results are plotted for effect of variation of discharge on the manometer.
