Introduction
The crime investigation software is an integrated solution which takes care of the various activities of a police station like criminal information management, crime information management, details of prominent locations under police circle, etc. The web based features enables the police, to maintain the details more efficiently. These services are enhanced by allocating user name and password whereby increasing the security and enhancing the authentication features so that the information is more secure.
The application generates various reports useful to the police, in tracking the information related to number of crimes and also the important information of criminals. Any specific report can be customized as per client requirement.
Main aim in developing CRIME INVESTIGATION SYSTEM is to provide an easy way and not only to automate all the functionalities of the POLICE STATION, but also to provide full functional reports to top officials of the police.
So we can say the core purpose of designing “Crime investigation System” is to manage the tasks related to the criminal information and to reduce time to searching of appropriate criminals from the database. This system provides the detailed structure of the criminal information and also the status of the crimes under police circle.
Crime investigation system is the easiest way to manage all functionalities of a police station. It is a value-added service, which facilitates the police to maintain the functionality related to the criminals, crimes, locations and also their employees.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATIONS:
What is SRS?
Software Requirement Specification (SRS) is the starting point of the software developing activity. As system grew more complex it became evident that the goal of the entire system cannot easily comprehend. Hence the need for the requirement phase arose. The software project is initiated by the client needs. The SRS is the means of translating the ideas of the minds of clients (the input) into a formal document (the output of the requirement phase).
The SRS phase consists of two basic activities:
1. Problem / Requirement Analysis :
The process is order and nebulous of the two, deals with understanding the problem, goal and constraints.
2. Requirement Specification :
Here, the focus in on specifying what has been giving analysis such as representation, specification language and tools, and checking specifications that are addressed during this activity. Producing SRS is the basic goal of this phase.
Role of SRS:
The purpose of the Software Requirement Specification is to reduce the communication gap between the clients and the developers. Software Requirement Specification is the medium through which the client and the user needs are accurately specified. It forms the basis of software development a good SRS satisfies the parties involved in the system.
Feasibility study:
Feasibility study is an important phase in the software development process. It enables the developers to have an assessment of the product being developed. It refers to the feasibility study of the product in terms of outcomes of the product, operational use and technical support required for implementing it.
Feasibility study should be performed on the basis of various criteria and parameters.
