INTRODUCTION
Today, in every organization personnel planning as an activity is necessary. It is an important part of an organization. Human Resource Planning is a vital ingredient for the success of the organization in the long run. There are certain ways that are to be followed by every organisation, which ensures that it has right number and kind of people, at the right place and right time, so that organization can achieve its planned objective.
The objectives of Human Resource Department are Human Resource Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Career planning, Transfer and Promotion, Risk Management, Performance Appraisal and so on. Each objective needs special attention and proper planning and implementation.
For every organization it is important to have a right person on a right job. Recruitment and Selection plays a vital role in this situation. Shortage of skills and the use of new technology are putting considerable pressure on how employers go about Recruiting and Selecting staff. It is recommended to carry out a strategic analysis of Recruitment and Selection procedure.
E-Recruitment Solution is an innovative web based solution useful for organizations with multiple locations that manage resource requirements. It is an automated system helping recruitment process; aimed at providing easy solution for the job listing, job management, candidate sorting and management and recruitment process management.
BACKGROUND:
Any system needs continuous evaluation to know the merits and demerits of the system. Thus evaluation system gives the scope for further improvement of the system. One of the major sources of evaluation is end user/ customer.
This is true for this system too. There should be a continuous update of the information of the job details .etc
AIM OF THE PROJECT
The objective of the project is to design and develop Integration of Resume which is a place for Job Seekers and Job Providers to meet. The Data base should collect also the minute details about the Job Seeker and Provider.
Integration of Recruitment Process is designed to collect multiple resumes from the Job Seeker. Integration of Recruitment Process aim is to provide Job Provider with enormous amount of data.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
a) Problem Specification
b) Feasibility Study
c) System Requirements Specification
d) Existing System
PROBLEM SPECIFICATION
Problem specification is the process of identifying all the factors that are occurring with the existing system means i.e. applying manually.
FEASIBILITY STUDY
The system evaluation process declares the feasibility of the project economically / organizationally. The system proposed is to replace the manual work with an automated system using computers and relevant software. The speed of data storage, retrieval and transfer when using a computer for these operations with accuracy in representation of data on permanent storage devices is the key aspect in the deployment of the system.
TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY:
Today there exist many languages that suit the development of sophisticated Front-end support tools that are menu driven and easy to operate. DotNet provide better approach to the problem by providing for the development of front-end tools and exporting them to the client system from remote machines. These languages offer excellent Database connectivity over network that make the connectivity easier and development of code in a cleaner fashion. Input validation code attached to the user interface elements reduce the errors in data entry to a greater extent and reduce errors in accounts maintenance.
Economical feasibility:
The cost of paper work is greatly reduced. ADO.NET database connectivity offers safer transaction processing mechanism to maintain the accuracy of data. This will reduce the errors in updating of accounts and also enhance speed in the generation of daily / weekly/ monthly reports easier and speed up the decision making easy and an in time process for centralized authorities. Thousands of daily transactions can be performed easily by delegating the data retrieval, maintenance for sophisticated software that controls situations in high rush hours of transactions.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION (SRS)
The purpose of Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document is to describe the external behavior of the Online Job Portal System. Requirements Specification defines and describes the operations, interfaces, performance, and quality assurance requirements of the Online Job Portal System. The document also describes the nonfunctional requirements such as the user interfaces. It also describes the design constraints that are to be considered when the system is to be designed, and other factors necessary to provide a complete and comprehensive description of the requirements for the software. The Software Requirements Specification (SRS) captures the complete software requirements for the system, or a portion of the system. Requirements described in this document are derived from the Vision Document Prepared for the Online Job Portal System.
Functional Requirements:
Inputs: The major inputs for Integration of Recruitment Process can be categorized module -wise. Basically all the information is managed by the software and in order to access the information one has to produce one's identity by entering the user-id and password. Every user has their own domain of access beyond which the access is dynamically refrained rather denied.
Output: The major outputs of the system are tables and reports. Tables are created dynamically to meet the requirements on demand. Reports, as it is obvious, carry the gist of the whole information that flows across the institution.
COMMON LANGUAGE RUNTIME
Despite its name, the runtime actually has a role in both a component's runtime and development time experiences. While the component is running, the runtime is responsible for managing memory allocation, starting up and stopping threads and processes, and enforcing security policy, as well as satisfying any dependencies that the component might have on other components.
Unified programming classes
The framework provides developers with a unified, object-oriented, hierarchical, and extensible set of class libraries (APIs). Currently, C++ developers use the Microsoft Foundation Classes and Java developers use the Windows Foundation Classes. The framework unifies these disparate models and gives Visual Basic and JScript programmers access to class libraries as well.
ASP.NET
ASP.NET builds on the programming classes of the .NET Framework, providing a Web application model with a set of controls and infrastructure that make it simple to build ASP Web applications. ASP.NET includes a set of controls that encapsulate common HTML user interface elements, such as text boxes and drop-down menus. These controls run on the Web server, however, and push their user interface as HTML to the browser.
What Are Web Services?
If you ask a developer what Web services are, you'll hear something like, "self-describing software modules, semantically encapsulating discrete functionality, wrapped in and accessible via standard Internet communication protocols like XML and SOAP."
But if you ask a jobiness leader who has implemented Web service-based solutions, you'll get a different kind of answer. You'll hear that Web services are an approach that helps the jobiness connect with its customers, partners, and employees. They enable the jobiness to extend existing services to new customers. They help the jobiness work more efficiently with its partners and suppliers. They unlock information so it can flow to every employee who needs it. They reduce development time and expense for new projects. You'll hear less about what Web services are and more about what they enable the jobiness to do.
Connecting Applications through Web Services
Web services are revolutionizing how applications talk to other applications—or, more broadly, how computers talk to other computers—by providing a universal data format that lets data be easily adapted or transformed. Based on XML, the universal language of Internet data exchange, Web services can communicate across platforms and operating systems, regardless of the programming language in which the applications are written. Each Web service is a discrete unit of code that handles a limited set of tasks. However, although Web services remain independent of each other, they can loosely link themselves into a collaborating group that performs a particular task.
Back-end used:
Database is a major concern in a customer support tool application.Hence, made a detailed study to find the most suitable databases for the project. The result was MSSQL Server7.0.
With a Windows NT server computer and ODBC, we can connect to any database system that runs under windows NT. The three common examples are SQL Server, Oracle and Access. The MSSQL Server is a wizard based Database Management System developed by Microsoft. This is used to work only with application developed using Windows operating System. The creation of tables is much easier than Oracle8i.
