ABSTRACT
This project designs an efficient method for ECG Signal Analysis whicg has fair accuracy and the calculation time is also less. The removal of noise is the first step to be taken. The required cardiac components should be extracted and the unwanted components must be rejected. The Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) method is used for achieving the Enhancement of signal. its adaptive nature is the inspiration for the use of EMD for this project.
The task of R peak detection is achieved by using the Wavelet Transform. The detection error rate defines the Efficiency of the method. The other methods for the R wave detection such as the Hilbert Transform and Difference Operation Method are also implemented and the results are compared with the CWT method to provide the proof to the result that CWT is a better method. The MATLAB environment. is used for the purpose of the simulation. The results show that the proposed method is very effective and fast for the R peak detection.
