STATOR FRAME
The Stator Frame Consist of a Cylindrical center section and two end shields which are gas tight and pressure resistant
It provides the mechanical strength for the whole construction.
STATOR CORE
The Stator Consist of a Core made of thin , stacked lamination that are wound with insulated wire & when current is passed through this wire the stator acts as an electromagnet.
Several hundred laminations are stacked together to from the core.
The main features of core are –
(i) To provide mechanical support .
(ii) To carry efficiently electric & magnetic flux.
STATOR WINDING
The stator has a three phase & double layer & short pitched and bar type of windings having two parallel paths.
The slot lower bars and slot upper are displaced from each other by one winding pitch and connected together by bus bars inside the stator frame in conformity with the connection diagram.
END COVER
The end covers are made up of fabricated steel or aluminium castings.
They are employed with guide vans on inner side for ensuring uniform distribution of air or gas.
Rotor Shaft
The rotor shaft is a single piece solid forging manufactured from a vacuum casting Approximately 60 % of
the rotor body circumference is with longitudinal slots, which hold the field winding.
CONCLUSION
The training at BHEL Hardwar helped me in improving my practical knowledge and awareness regarding the Turbo Generator to a large extent.
Here I came to know about the technology and material used in manufacturing of Turbo Generators. Besides this, I also visualized the thing involved or equipment used in the power generation.
Here I learnt about how the electrical equipment which are being manufactured and how they tackle the various problems under different circumstances.
