1.INTRODUCTION TO ERGONOMICS
Word ‘ergonomic’ was formed by the Greek words ‘ergon’ which means work, and ‘nomos’ which means natural laws.
Ergonomics is the science of fitting the work environment to the employee. By improving the match between the work environment and the employee, you can expect improved employee comfort, reduced chances for occupational injuries, improved productivity, and improved employee job satisfaction.
Vibration:
. For higher frequencies the human body becomes less and less sensitive.
The limits on time of exposure of the human body to a given vibration condition are defined, taking into account three criteria:
i) preservation of comfort,
ii) preservation of work efficiency, and iii)preservation of health and safety.
In a vehicle, various systems can be engineered to contribute to minimization of the discomfort perception of vibration by occupants, e.g. the tyre’s, main suspension, engine suspension, car body, seat...
Thermal comfort
Thermal comfort is by definition ‘that condition of mind that expresses satisfaction with the thermal environment
The external climatic conditions have a strong influence on the vehicle interior.
quality
If the vehicle interior is not sufficiently ventilated, the presence of people may result in a degradation of the indoor air quality
Future of Ergonomics
The future of ergonomics will be strongly dependent on the ability of Ergonomists to integrate outside our profession with a range of stakeholders.
The future for ergonomists will require development of wide-based skills that include strong technical and research competencies
9.CONCLUSION
It is important to apply the ergonomics standards to keep a healthy live. We’ll expend a lot of time at work, studying, etc.
2) While Ergonomics is a relative new field of study, it is acquiring relevance worldwide. More companies are applying ergonomics policies. Probably some day will be mandatory
3)We need to think about how are we working, about our postures and habits. It is always a good time to learn and improve.
