Introduction
Exoenzymes are enzymes produced within the cell then released outside of the cell to begin the process of extracellular digestion.
The exoenzymes can be classified on the basis of the kinds of molecules they hydrolyze; carbohydrates, lipids, proteins,or nucleic acids.
Examples of exoenzymes
Amylase,Lipase,Gelatinase,Xylanase, pectinase
Pectinase
Pectin or other pectic substances are heterogeneous group of high molecularweight, complex acidic structural polysaccharides with a backbone of galacturonic acid residues linked by -alpha ( 1-4 ) linkages.
Pectic substances are classified into four main types based on the type of modifications of the backbone
chain which are; protopectin, pectic acid, pectinic acid and pectin.
